Group 7 consists of one industry subsector, transportation equipment (NAICS 336). Annual average employment in this subsector during the period 1990 through 2014 is shown in the following chart:
From 1990 through 2014, some 572,000, or nearly three out of every ten, of the 2.13 million jobs in manufacturing transportation equipment were lost. Although there have been some gains since the low of 2010, jobs are still well below their pre-2008 recession levels and far below their 1990 and 2000 levels.
