Group 1 - Apparel, Textiles and Textile Products

Group 1 consists of three industry subsectors: apparel manufacturing (NAICS 315), textile mills (NAICS 313), and textile product mills (NAICS 314).  Annual average employment in these subsectors during the period 1990 through 2014, individually and as a group, is shown in the following charts:

From 1990 through 2014, we lost an astonishing 1.3 million, nearly four out of five, of the 1.6 million jobs in the apparel and textile industries.  Information on each industry subgroup is presented here:

May 7, 2015, Radnor, PA.  MIAA's founder, Jim Stuber, appeared as the guest of host Richard J. Anthony, Sr. on The Entrepreneur's Network TV at Radnor Studio 21.  The program featured a discussion of the problems caused by offshoring manufacturing and white collar jobs and how consmers can solve the problem with their spending decisions.
